Rustic shadow frame - Country Live

 Welcome creative friends!

I was inspired to create a rustic weathered wooden shadow frame in mixed media style.

Background was made with decoupage technique, stencils, stamps and distress ink.

I love taking parts apart and putting them back together again.

I divided the house and converted it into a chicken coop.

The two chickens were also separated, probably because the couple had just had a fight,

and a spatial separation is always a good idea ;-).

Junk Journal - Where is the SUN ??

Hello!

Snowdrops - Messengers of Spring

Hello friends!

Timidly the first spring messengers appear

 Happy crafting!

Dinner for One

Hello friends!

Do you know the comedy TV sketch 'Dinner for One' also known as The 90th birthday?
It's very funny and a big tradition in Germany to watch this on New Year's eve every year.
I saw this motif on tissue paper and I admired the wonderful colors and thought very good,
this must be a new altered project.

- Just for FUN -

I used a lot of DecoArt colors and textures for the frame:
Chalky Finish paints - Yesteryear, Artifact, Relic and Rustic
Wheathered Wood Crackle Medium
Creme wax Deep brown
Modeling Paste Black
 Mixed Media Stencil 'Old film'

I hope it's a little inspiration for you to try some other techniques and styles,
I love this time in my laboratory :-)!

Three haselnuts for Cinderella

Welcome!

today a new inspiration for a very romantic home decor piece. Do you know the beautiful winter fairytale '' Drei Haselnüsse für Aschenbrödel''?

It's a great tradition to see this fairytale on TV to the christmas eve, a wonderful childhood memory for me and passed from generation to generation.
Even as a child I loved the owl 'Rosalie' and thatswhy I used a shadow frame for a 3D winter landscape together with three silver haselnuts and not to forget the glass shoes.

  It's a shadow frame (size 36 x 42 cm) with a winter theme.
A decopage paper as background and highlighted with texture snow and glimmer effects.

Frame was painted with white acrylic and crackle paint from DecoArt,
a brown crackle stamp and some varios shades of distress brown.

Added some snowflake stamps with embossing powder, beautiful lace pieces, wooden plates and the words - Follow your heart.

The wonderful feather owl was a gift from a friend
and I think in this landscape she has find the right place.

Beautiful Day

Welcome friends,

Happy Birthday to the 2nd Blogaversary - Thank you very much for inviting me!
I was just so honoured and excited.

perfectly theme and so I have choose - no surprise ;-) - Art journaling ,
because it makes me happy!,
it relaxes me and helps me to stress management

used materials + white gesso + decoupage glue
I have worked with decoupage technique (napkin),
used stencils, stamps, distress inks, laces and grandma's old buttons.

It's a memory on a very beautiful day in Paris  last year.
I hope you will inspired to discover the fascinating world of Art Journaling.
In fact, there are no rules for journaling, is anything goes.
This is actually the oft-quoted "The journey is the reward" and the images are created precisely.
The journaling very different forms of expression can be used: painting, drawing, photography, collage, stamps, stencils, writing, .... and much more. Often it is a combination of different techniques in Mixed media style, that lead to pages .

Primed with diluted white gesso, let dry, then use a wonderful napkin with decoupage glue, just the stencils with white gesso, dry it with heating tool. Drawing some branches with black acrylic paint, use some suitable stamps with archival pigment ink and another stencil with distress ink (diamond), glue on some embellishments and last but not least - a personalized text in spidery handwriting and
voila finished is a new art journaling page.

Just start, having fun and try out!
