Nothern Lights with Dusty Attic

Welcome everyone!

Welcome into the new year 2023,

wish you a year full of fun and joy in creative work !

It's wintertime here, cold, snow and ice have us again fully in the grip.
but it can be also a very special time, in the high north of Europe
 you can now discover
Northern Lights, they change the landscape into a magic winterland.
I  have not seen them myself yet, but they fascinate me.

I was inspired to create a mixed media canvas as new wall decoration
for a child room.
In the dark starry sky they shine especially bright
and the little penguin marvels at these great wonders of nature.

Nothern Lights were painted with acrylic and metallic paints,
love to combine several techniques with the classical scrapbooking style,
it's always very exciting.
At Dusty Attic you can find always a lot of inspiring chippies,
which can be magnificently combined for all kinds of techniques and ideas,
I just love to try out new ideas and surprise others with them.

Miles Apart - Place of Longing For DT Maja Design

Welcome dear Maja friends!

Have you yet seen our latest amazing paper collection ' Miles Apart' ??

If not - check them out! You'll love them!

Delightful colours and inspiring motifs, I was immediately in love with the motives and

used the longing woman for an summer sea inspired layout. The motive seduced me once again to paint with acrylic colours and so the brush continued painting the cut out ephemera picture almost by itself.

Many of us spend their holidays in this year on balconies or in the garden, no question that can be very relaxing. But at the seaside it would be even more beautiful, healthy air and bathing in the sea, you can only dream of that this year. when I discovered this woman with this longing look, it fitted exactly to my somewhat melancholic mood.

more details can you find here

in the upper area I simply painted with a fan brush a few clouds and seagulls

I love this vintage woman look and chose some suitable acrylic colors

little girl swings in the rose garden and dreams of the sea

other materials:

Chipboards from Dusty Attic; Mini Art Stones (Prima Marketing) ; Acrylic paints (DecoArt)

I hope I could inspire you to take time again for the beautiful things in life!
Happy crafting!

I love this very old photographies from grandparents, where you can find such awesome mobile bathing carts. The beach huts reminds me in any manner.

I wanted to create in a grungy weathered wood style, it should be look very natural

Artsy fishes with 3D effect

Welcome crafty friends!

Today a new inspiration with an awesome stamp from Scrap FX.
It's a mixed media canvas with two stamped fishes in black and white
which look like Ying and Yang .

The background was made with white crackle paste, black and white acrylic colour
and some stencils.

 some details

stamped with black Archival ink pad on watercolour paper

another fish was made with the second reprint

both were cut out and worked with the same technique as seen on the next project

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

My second inspiration is a cover for a new planner.

 some details

I stamped the Koi fish on a watercolor paper and used some distress inks for painting and a black fineliner  for some accents.

The fins were additionally covered with Crackle glaze transparent.
Then I cut out the fish, the fins were slightly cut to shape it better with the help of a pencil.

 and transparent glass beads

SEA Girl - Aus Alt mach Neu

Welcome!

Rainbow colors

Welcome everyone!

today a new canvas from my fantasy series, a real color cracker
 - bold & bright - in the truest sense of the word, not typical for me, but it had to be :-)

Tutorial Tips & Tricks

some tips how you can let your creativity run free or wild

stencil (rain and sunshine) + white gesso

a motif (cutout) from J. Wall as central point
4 acrylic rainbow colors
I used a lot of water with brushes and spray bottle,
let the ink run down, respectively in all directions :-)
that's fun and magic pur, promise

dripping white ink, added more texture (gauze, black twist)

 chipboards with silver metal paint

 untrue eyelashes as corona

butterfly stamps in background

 Inspiration Challenges

rainbow colors - as can easily be seen :-)
it's like an escape  far away from the gray every day life,
monotonous routine of working days

Have a nice creative weekend!
